What are the uses of Aluminium Sulphate?
Industrial
This is used as an accelerator and waterproofing agent in concrete. In dyeing process, the Aluminium Sulphate is used as a mordant on any fiber without changing the shades. It gives vibrant colors on fabrics and also utilized in leather tanning. It also used as a waterproofing agent in construction industry and added to concrete to increase concrete settling.
Gardening
Aluminium Sulphate is sometimes used to reduce the soil pH for gardening.
Water Purification
To remove impurities, the aluminum sulfate is added to water that is commonly used in ponds to remove pollutants and algae. The largest commercial use of aluminum sulfate is as a coagulant in water treatment plants.
