What are the uses of Copper Chloride?

Industrial

Copper (II) Chloride dehydrate is used as a catalyst for organic and inorganic reactions such as vinyl chloride and 1, 2-dichloroethane. It is also used in the preparation of copper oxychloride. For photography, it acts as a fixer, desensitizer reagent. In Petroleum Industry, it is used as a desulfurizing, deodorizing and purifying agent.

Manufacturing

In textiles, it is used as a mordant and oxidizing agent for aniline dyestuffs. Copper Chloride also used in the manufacturing of agricultural chemicals, several copper salts and the manufacturing of fast black – melanin.

Others

This is used even in indelible, invisible and laundry marking inks. In addition to this, copper chloride is used as a component in wood preserving, a pigment for glass or ceramics and as a copper plating for aluminum.
